Nathan Philipp is an active performer, composer and educator in the DFW area. On horn, Philipp’s currently performs with Richardson's Early Brass Ensemble, with his brass quintet and as a freelance artist. Previously he worked with the Johnson City Symphony and the Appalachian Brass Orchestra. Equally at home in composition, his works have been performed internationally and he has been commissioned to write for band and chorus. Philipp is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of North Texas. His research interests include modern tonality and film music. Philipp has presented research at regional conferences in 2010 and 2012, as well as the College Music Society National Convention in 2011. He currently resides in Rowlett TX with his wife Leita and their dog Saturn.
