What Will I Learn?
Our Bachelor of Music (BM) degree in Music with EC–12 certification leads to Texas teacher certification for Early Childhood through grade 12 and prepares students to teach both general music at the elementary level and instrumental or vocal music at the secondary level. Our comprehensive curriculum equips graduates for careers as:
Middle or high school band or choir directors
Elementary music specialists
Though students are prepared to teach music at all grade levels (EC-12), the curriculum allows them to select one of two areas of emphasis:
- Instrumental/EC-12 music, or
- Vocal/EC-12 music.
