Why ETAMU? Student Advice
East Texas A&M provided me with the opportunity to attend college as a full-time student while balancing my responsibilities at work and at home. The professors provided coursework that was challenging but not unrealistic and guided me through the learning process. All coursework was provided online without having to search for books or worksheets. The program is extremely affordable, especially compared to other universities. The faculty and staff at East Texas A&M go out of their way to make you feel a part of the university and are always available to assist and provide guidance. The coursework is self-paced which allowed me to progress as my schedule allowed and take advantage of the knowledge and experience gained through my policing career. My only regret about attending East Texas A&M is that I did not start my educational journey sooner. I highly recommend current peace officers and those seeking a career in law enforcement to attain their degree through A&M-Commerce.
ETAMU Degree: Career Ready
After graduation, I will have the ability to promote within my agency and continue to lead within a larger span of control. This degree program will also afford me the ability to take my education and experience to another agency in a command-level position. Truthfully, I have already begun applying what I have learned from East Texas A&M in my current position and have been able to produce a better work product.
Influential Faculty & Staff
Professor Jimmie Womack was a fantastic professor that can combine real-world experiences as a retired Police Chief with academia. His classes challenged students while forcing them to think outside the box to find solutions. He was extremely supportive and provided feedback that encouraged and enhanced his students.
ETAMU’s Life Lesson
