A&M-Commerce Accounting Faculty Published by Online Journal, Podcast

Dr. James Hamill, Associate Professor of Accounting at Texas A&M University-Commerce, had an article recently featured in an online publication and made a guest appearance on a podcast to expound on his article. Hamill’s piece, “The Corporate Transparency Act May Pose Fresh Quandaries for CPAs,” was published in February by Tax Notes, which bills itself as the first source of essential daily news, analysis and commentary for tax professionals whose success depends on being trusted for their expertise. Hamill’s article concerned Certified Public Accountants’ (CPA) issues with reporting client Beneficial Ownership under the new Corporate Transparency Act. Following his article, he was invited to appear on the “Talking Taxes” podcast produced by the S Corp Association, an organization devoted to promoting and protecting the interests of America's 5 million S corporations. The 34-minute episode with Hamill was published on March 9. Hamill joined the College of Business Faculty in 2018, and holds degrees from the University of Delaware, the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. He is also a CPA.
